Marco Antônio Zago

Marco Antônio Zago is the President of São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from University of São Paulo (USP) and a Ph.D from Oxford University. He served as a professor at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (USP) and later became the institution’s Rector. Addicionaly, he was the  president of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) (2007-2010). Zago’s involvement in international scientific networks, including the European Research Council (ERC), highlights his commitment to global scientific advancements.
