Miriam Wimmer

Miriam Wimmer holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Culture Policies from the Faculty of Communication at UnB, a Master’s degree in Public Law, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from UERJ. She is also certified as a specialist in personal data protection (Europe) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (CIPP/E). She also was a scholar in the international program at Waseda University in Tokyo, and she currently serves as a professor at IDP-Brasília. In her career as a civil servant since 2007, she has held positions in leadership roles at the Ministry of Communications – MC and the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations, and Communications – MCTIC, where she played a role in coordinating the development of the Brazilian Strategy for Digital Transformation. Miriam Wimmer is actively involved in professional and academic activities focusing on internet issues, telecommunications, digital policies, and personal data protection.
