Dr Doubravka Olsakova

Doubravka Olšáková is a senior researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague, where she leads a working group on contemporary environmental history. She holds a PhD from the University of Paris IV and Charles University in Prague (2003–2007). In 2012, she launched a Visegrad initiative aimed at mapping the environmental history of Visegrad countries during the Cold War. Doubravka’s  research is oriented towards the intersection of the history of science and environmental history. She is actively involved in academic life and acts as treasurer of the DHST Commission on Science, Technology and Diplomacy and as member of various academic bodies and editorial boards.
