Paulo Alberto Nussenzveig

Paulo Nussenzveig holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1988), a Master’s degree in Physics from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1990), and a PhD in “Physique Quantique” from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI), École Normale Supérieure (1994). He holds a Livre-docente degree from the University of São Paulo (2002). He was a Visiting Professor at Cornell University in 2012. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Theoretical Physics (Principia Foundation) and was a member of the International Council of the Optical Society (OSA) from 2014 to 2018. He is a full professor (MS-6) at the Institute of Physics, University of São Paulo. He was a member of the Physics Area Coordination at FAPESP (2018-2022). Since February 2022, he has been the Vice-Provost for Research and Innovation at the University of São Paulo.
